NON-TRADITIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to scholarships for those pursuing a post-secondary education, the Foundation offers a non-traditional scholarship designed for Shareholders pursuing professional and personal development, as well as traditional and cultural learning. These scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to Shareholders looking to improve or learn new job skills, personal skills, or cultural skills.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Intended to support our Shareholders who are interested in improving their personal life skills, in and out of the workplace.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
For non-degree seeking applicants looking to enhance their employability skills, improve professional performance and complete continuing education requirements for licensure and certifications. This may include study programs, conferences or trainings, workshops and webinars.
CULTURAL LEARNING
Intended to support costs associated with completing or teaching courses that enhance and/or sustain knowledge and skills related to Alaska Native cultures such as language courses, heritage/cultural camps, beading, sewing, carving, fish cutting or other culturally focused workshops.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The Personal and Professional Development and Cultural Learning scholarships offered by KEF require the following:
- TKC Shareholder
- Age 14 or older
- Proof of enrollment, registration, or acceptance into
a course, training, or workshop - Completed scholarship application and supporting documents submitted at least two weeks before course, training, workshop, or event begins
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
TKC Shareholders can be awarded up to $1,000 per academic year through our Non-Traditional Scholarship. KEF does not provide reimbursement for qualifying courses, trainings, workshops, or events that have been paid for out-of-pocket.
