Middle Kuskokwim Languages Youth Tee – Beaver/Paluqtaq/Noya’

Beavers are an important part of the rivers, lakes, and wetlands of the Middle Kuskokwim. Their work shapes the waterways and wetlands around them, creating habitat for other plants and animals. For generations, beaver has also been part of life on the land, providing warm, durable fur and connecting families to the knowledge and skills of trapping, preparing, and using what the land provides.

This unisex t-shirt features an illustration of a beaver along with two Native words for the animal:
Paluqtaq – [Yup’ik word]
Noya’ – [Deg Xinag word]

This shirt is more than just clothing. It is one of the ways we work to preserve language, honor the Middle Kuskokwim culture and community, and support students from the Middle Kuskokwim region of Alaska.
